All Star hopes to save 90 lives

Saturday, August 15th, 2009

STURBRIDGE OFFICE PARK, FISKDALE, MA – On August 6th, 2009, All Star Incentive Marketing partnered with The American Red Cross to break donation records.  The Red Cross traveling “Bloodmobile” was staged in front of All Star’s headquarters from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm as All Star employees, and employees from neighboring company Photonis, made donations.  With the collective efforts of All Star’s employees, neighbors, friends, and family a total of 30 units were collected while additional volunteers were waiting in the wings to help out.  According to The American Red Cross, each unit can save approximately 3 lives.

The blood drive was conceived of as part of All Star’s overall company-wide Wellness Program.  The idea originated from several employees, some of whom are on the Social Responsibility Committee, one of seven such committees focused on making All Star’s Wellness program a differentiator that demonstrates All Star’s caring for its employees, and the local communities as a whole.  ” I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it turned out to be a feel-good event as I watched members of my family, All Star employees, and total strangers all come together for this worthy cause”, commented All Star’s President Brian Galonek.  The event was so successful that plans have already begun for a follow up blood drive event to be held inside All Star’s facility in February of 2010.
